Pickup & safety guidance
Chop Awoof is pickup-only: you collect your order yourself from the merchant's premises. This page explains how pickup works and what to do if something looks wrong.
Before you pay
Every listing shows the pickup location, the pickup window, and — for a Mystery Bag — the category, minimum guaranteed value, possible contents, exclusions and known allergens. Read these before you buy; the pickup window in particular is often tight, because merchants are working around their own closing times and food handling.
Collecting your order
You'll get a 6-digit pickup code (with a QR backup) after paying. Show it to the merchant when you arrive during the stated window. Collection is recorded the moment the code is used — this confirms you received the order, but it does not, by itself, waive your right to report a genuine problem (see below).
Inspect before you leave, where practical
Before leaving the merchant's premises, check that what you've been given reasonably matches what you ordered and looks safe to eat — the right category and quantity for a Mystery Bag, no visible spoilage or damage, and a sealed or otherwise properly handled package. If something looks wrong, raise it with the merchant on the spot — many issues can be resolved immediately that way.
You are never expected to accept or eat food you reasonably believe is unsafe. If what's handed to you is clearly spoiled, damaged or unsafe, you can decline it and report it to us — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for how that's handled.
If you only notice a problem later
Sometimes a problem isn't obvious until you get home — an allergen that wasn't disclosed, food that turns out to be spoiled, or a Mystery Bag that falls well short of its stated minimum value or category. Using your pickup code, or leaving the merchant's premises, does not mean you have given up your right to report this. Contact us as soon as you reasonably can at admin@chopawoof.com.
What pickup does and doesn't mean
- Pickup confirms you received an order. It does not mean you take on full legal responsibility for everything about it, and it does not exempt the merchant from their food-safety obligations or exempt Chop Awoof from the responsibilities described in our Terms of Service.
- Chop Awoof does not deliver, but that does not mean we take no responsibility at all for how the marketplace operates — see our Terms for what we are and are not responsible for.
- A missed pickup window is treated differently from a food-safety problem — read our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the distinction.
